About CityBrief
CityBrief publishes short, sourced local news and guides, city by city: what changed, what it means for people who live and work there, and a link to the original source.
Who publishes CityBrief
CityBrief is published by RealBooster, a Canadian company that helps local businesses get found on Google and in AI assistants. Some businesses we write about may be RealBooster clients; when a story features one, it says so in a publisher’s note at the top.
Editorial policy
- Stories are chosen because they are useful to local readers. No business can pay to be included in, or to shape, an editorial story.
- Every news story links to its sources: official announcements, public records, or people we spoke to on the record.
- An editor approves every story before it is published.
- Some explainers are drafted with AI from official announcements. They only use facts from those sources, every number, date and quote is checked against the source before an editor sees the draft, and the story says so.
- We don’t publish rankings like “best dentist” or favour clients over other businesses.
- Links to clients or sponsors are marked as commercial links, so they never pass search-ranking credit.
Sponsored content, directory and expert views
- Sponsored stories are paid. They are labelled “Sponsored” above the headline and name the sponsor.
- Directory listings follow published inclusion rules and are verified before they appear.
- Expert views are written or reviewed by a verified expert, with their affiliations stated.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and add a dated correction note to the story. To report an error, email info@realbooster.ca.
